Hello, I'm James
I manage projects. I’m a parent. An expat based in Austin, United States.
Several years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter living overseas.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more tangled than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of on-the-job learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built UrbanStreamCode
Much of the online information fell into corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in United States.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from life in United States
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site is NOT:
- Not a tourism board resource
- Not a sponsored review site
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in United States goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we learn.
If you have questions about family life in Austin or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
James
